SUMMARY:In Person Absentee Voting and Equipment Test
DESCRIPTION:We will be testing the election equipment on Friday\, February 17\, 2023 at 3:00 at the Lewiston School Gym.  This test is open to the public. \nAlso on that afternoon\, you may drop off the absentee ballots that were already mailed to you. You can also vote absentee ballot that day.  That will be available from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm.

SUMMARY:2023 Spring Primary Election
DESCRIPTION:The 2023 Spring Primary Election will be held on Tuesday\, February 21\, 2023 from 7:00 am to 8:00 pm at the Lewiston Elementary School; enter through the side gymnasium door.  \nPlan ahead and visit Myvote.wi.gov for specific information about the candidates when the election draws near. Also\, you can register to vote and update your address if needed. This will save you time at the poll on election day.  \nVOTING BY ABSENTEE BALLOTAny qualified elector who is unable or unwilling to vote at the school on Election Day may submit a request to vote an absentee ballot. A qualified elector is any U.S. citizen who:• will be 18 years of age or older on Election Day.• has resided in the ward or municipality where they wish to vote for at least 28 consecutive days before the election. \nThe elector must also be registered to vote to receive an absentee ballot. Proof of identification must be provided before an absentee ballot may be issued*.  Contact your municipal clerk and request that an application for an absentee ballot be sent to you for the primary or general election or both. You may make written application to your municipal clerk for an absentee ballot in person\, by mail (Clerk\, PO Box 544\, Portage\, WI 53901)\, or at MyVote.wi.gov.Your written request must include:1. your voting address within the Lewiston Township2. the address where the absentee ballot should be sent\, if different from the address above3. your signature4. a copy of your photo identification*The deadline for making application to receive an absentee ballot by mail is 5:00 on February 16. *Voters who are indefinitely confined due to age\, illness\, infirmity\, or disability may not be required to provide photo ID. If this applies to you\, contact the municipal clerk regarding deadlines for requesting and submitting an absentee ballot. \nYou may also request and vote an absentee ballot in person\, or drop off mailed ballots\, at the Lewiston School on Friday\, February 17 from 3-5 pm.
