Plan Commission

The Lewiston Plan Commission has five (5) members who are appointed by the Town Board.  Members serve 3-year terms which are staggered.

The Plan Commission reviews land-use and zoning matters in the Township such as re-zoning, conditional use requests, variance issues, etc.  Forms provided by the County must be completed, with a $35 fee in order for your case to be heard. Once the County processes the application, it is forwarded to the Lewiston Planning Commission which makes its recommendations to the Town Board. The Town Board informs the County of its decision, and the County takes it from there.

Meetings are as-needed; the regular time is the fourth Thursday of the month at 6:30 pm at the Lewiston Elementary School.

The Plan Commission is also responsible for developing and maintaining a Comprehensive Plan that must be updated every ten (10) years.  The Lewiston Plan Commission is in the beginning stages of updating its Plan. See Comprehensive Plan under the Government tab.
